Industry Insight
Discover what CIOs/CTOs think about AI and other hot topics in higher education technology.
Inside Higher Ed's 2023 Survey of Campus Chief Technology/Information Officers uncovered that artificial intelligence was a top concern, but that institutions were in very different stages of adopting AI technology. The survey also revealed some discrepancies between CIOs and other campus leaders when it came to digitally transforming their campus.
Here are few findings from the survey:
- Nearly 4 in 10 CIOs indicate that their institution is in the advanced stages of using generative AI technology for instructional purposes and simple administrative tasks.
- 73% of CIOs indicate that they personally believe digital transformation is a “high priority” or “essential” for their institution.
- 93% of respondents indicated that, within the last 12 months, their institution has required multi-factor authentication for all employee accounts and updated software to improve cybersecurity practices.
