Peering Into the Future of Higher Education: What Will Students Want?
Today’s shrinking revenues and declining enrollments suggest that many students are questioning the value of a four-year education.
Based on the widening skills gap, income disparity, and cost-to-value of a college degree, students will most likely enroll in schools that provide the job and life skills necessary to thrive in today’s digital world. While larger institutions may be able to withstand—initially, at least—the challenges facing most higher education, smaller colleges should consider offering educational experiences that are hybrid, bite-sized, and personalized to better serve changing student expectations.
