Thursday, January 5 | 3:45 – 4:45 PM
The higher education landscape is changing: Student demographics and needs are shifting and the value of a college degree is being called into question. As pressure mounts for colleges and universities to adapt, Inside Higher Education’s recent Deep Dive Report explored how schools are coming up with inventive ways to position themselves for future success. In this roundtable discussion we’ll use this report to examine how leaders of private colleges can address declining enrollments, offer alternative learning pathways, combat employee turnover, and remain resilient.

Research Round Robin: Industry Survey Findings: How Much Stake Do Institutions Have in Non-Traditional Academic Credentials?
Friday, January 6 | 9:45 – 10:30 AM
The way learners consume education has changed. Many are seeking hybrid learning options or short-term courses to get the skills they need to succeed. Now, the demand for non-traditional academic credentials like certificates, micro-credentials, and stackable degrees is on the rise. It looks like colleges are listening and are increasingly offering alternatives to the traditional degree, but there is still much to discover about this new learning methodology.
Recently, Jenzabar conducted a study to uncover trends, insights, and lessons learned related to offering alternatives to the traditional academic credentials. In this session, we’ll share the results of our survey and discuss how institutions are creating pathways to make higher education accessible, affordable, and attainable for all learners.
